More on Michalczik

Just a quick note to link to our story in today’s Herald on UW offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Jim Michalczik leaving Washington to take a job with the Raiders. The story includes a bit from Michalczik on his decision to return to the Bay Area.

And for those that are wondering, no, Michalczik doesn’t have any sort of buyout or penalty or anything like that to for leaving. He hadn’t yet signed an actual contract, just a memoradum or understanding. And even if he had signed his contract, most assistant coaches’ contracts don’t include penalties for leaving early.
