New mascot introduced

Washington introduced its new live mascot to replace Spirit, the Alaskan Malamute that suffered a career-ending shoulder injury last year while chasing a squirrel.

Dubs, a three-month old Alaskan Malamute who will take over for spirit, soaked up some media attention along with some rain this afternoon in the west end zone of Husky Stadium. The name Dubs was picked in an online poll, and his successors will also be named Dubs.
