Lorenzo Romar and a few players talked to the media this afternoon before the team had a pool workout, and Quincy Pondexter said he woke up sore from his fall in yesterday’s game, but that he fully expects to play Saturday against WSU.

“I woke up pretty rough this morning, it wasn’t the best feeling waking up and moving around,” Pondexter said. “I was really sore and the whole area was tender, but I’ll be fine. It’s just a matter of time, and thank God we’ve got a couple of days before we play again.”

Asked about his thoughts when he went down in last night’s game, Pondexter said: “I was very scared. It was one of those moments where everything flashes through your head and you really get scared about your team’s well being and if you’ll be able to play the next game. And your family is watching on TV, so you get scared for them. So I just wanted to come out that second half and at least play a couple of minutes to show everybody that I’ll be fine and they don’t have anything to worry about.”

Pondexter even went as far as to say that, if there were a game tonight, he’d be able to play.
