Truck hits, injures Marysville boy as he crosses street

MARYSVILLE — A teenager was airlifted to a Seattle hospital Wednesday night after he was hit by a truck at the intersection of Grove Street and 47th Avenue.

The 14-year-old Marysville boy was hit by a pickup truck about 8 p.m. while crossing 47th Street with a friend, Marysville Police Lt. Jeff Goldman said. Medics airlifted him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious head injuries.

His condition was not immediately known.

The boy and his friend were crossing against the light and wore dark clothing, Goldman said.

Police continued to investigate at the scene Wednesday night. The driver was cooperating, Goldman said.
