The Snohomish County Council passed a joint resolution with the county executive on Wednesday in support of the Dawson Place Child Advocacy Center.
The resolution pledges to continue to seek federal, state and local funds for the center. Dawson Place provides a range of services for sexual assault survivors under one roof: detectives, prosecutors, medical professionals, victims advocates and social workers.
Previously, people had to navigate through an array of agencies that were often scattered throughout the area.
The council’s resolution, which passed 4-0, also supports finding a new building for Dawson Place. Its current home is an office building on Colby Avenue in Everett.
