MONROE — A crash Sunday night left two people trapped in their vehicle and injured five others.
Firefighters rushed to the scene of a two-car collision on 161st Avenue SE at 169th Place SE just after 8 p.m., Monroe Fire District spokeswoman Richelle Risdon said. When crews arrived, they found one of the vehicles on its top with two people trapped inside.
Firefighters used cutting tools to free the two people and drove them to hospitals, Risdon said. Their conditions were unknown Monday.
Five other people, four of them children, were inside the other vehicle, Risdon said. They suffered minor injuries.
Police are investigating whether speed played a role in the crash, Risdon said.
