50 YEARS AGO (1959)

Salesman of the month for local Realtors, Bill Phillips of Vic Johnson Realty was congratulated by Gordon Gaston, president of the Everett Board of Realtors. Phillips was selected for his high volume of sales during February.

Cub Scouts sponsored by Immaculate Conception PTA were taking steps to pay their sponsors for the time and effort spent on their behalf. They had raised money and were buying books for the school. Showing how they would make the presentation of the books were Shawn Farnesworth, Mark Peterson, Charles Imholt, Craig Madsen and Bruce Jamieson.

25 YEARS AGO (1984)

The historical society in Lake Stevens was embarking on a long-range project to re-construct the early days of the community, and one of its first moves was bringing back the old street names. Gayle Whitsell said original names such as Cuthbertson, Van Dyke, Foss, Igloo and Sheehan would soon be erected with their modern-day counterparts.

Building a new bandstand, gazebo and restrooms and getting rid of the sopping-wet lower area in Wilcox Park were all projects that would get under way this spring, it was announced by Michael Caldwell, administrative assistant to Lynnwood’s mayor.
