LYNNWOOD — Red Cross volunteers Saturday night rushed to help a family of four displaced by a fire.

The fire sparked at the family’s home in the 4500 block of 180th Street SW, said Kris Krischano, a spokesman for the local chapter of Red Cross.

The fire started in the garage about 7:30 p.m. and spread to the house, causing a lot of smoke damage, Lynnwood Fire Lt. Mike Vanderpoel said.

The family had insurance, Krischano said. They were going to stay with family or friends.
