Gold Bar: Dinner and auction planned

The Sky Valley Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual dinner and auction at Camp Huston for 5 p.m., Saturday.

The event provides funding for the Sky Valley chamber. This year’s theme is How the West Was Won. Tickets are $30 each and should be purchased in advance.

Lake Stevens: Arts panel on Wednesday

The Lake Stevens Arts Commission plans to discuss possible candidates for an opening on the commission at its meeting Wednesday.

The meeting is 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Community-Senior Center, 1808 Main St.

An update on candidates to create art for future city buildings is also on the agenda.

Lake Stevens: Conservation district plans meetings

The Snohomish Conservation District has scheduled two public meetings to provide information about its proposed $5 assessment to begin in 2010.

The meetings are 6 to 7 p.m. Monday and 7 to 8 p.m. April 16 at the district’s office, 528 91st Ave. NE, Suite A, Lake Stevens.

The district is asking for $5 annually from most property owners in the county to ensure its funding in the future.

Monroe: Chamber honors citizens

The annual Monroe Chamber of Commerce Awards ceremony is 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, 17001 Tester Road.

The chamber will present awards for community improvement, volunteering and business excellence. Coffee and dessert will be served. Reservations are required.

Snohomish: Free kids martial arts lessons

Kids 12 to 18 can take a new free martial arts class sponsored by the Snohomish Police Department and the Tillicum Kiwanis. The instructor is a former police officer and has studied martial arts for 18 years. Classes run every Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.
