Why the Obamas got Bo

The First Family introduced their new dog, Bo, to the world on Tuesday.
Bo is a gift from Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, and President Barack Obama is taking some flak for not following through on a pledge to adopt a rescue dog from a shelter.
The Buzz wonders whether the Obamas did try to adopt a dog, and it didn’t go well.
Dog rescue organizations tend to be very cautious in screening homes. We can only imagine their report on the White House:
Is yard fully fenced? Yes, but the home is patrolled by heavily armed security officers who are supposed to shoot any intruders. This might be dangerous and very scary for the dog!!
Is someone home during the day? The Obamas work from home but take frequent business trips. Mr. Obama sometimes takes business calls at 3 a.m. Because of the Obamas’ busy schedule, hired staff would often care for the dog. This is not fair to the dog!!
Will dog accompany family on outings? The Obamas sometimes spend weekends at a country home at Camp David, Md. They fly there by helicopter, which might be frightening for the dog!!!
Recommendation: The Obama family means well, but their residence is not a suitable “forever home” for a dog at this time. Adoption request denied.
