EVERETT — A young man Wednesday night said his car was stolen, but his wet driver’s license told officers a different story.
Police were called to the Riverside Industrial Park around 7 p.m. when an 18-year-old Everett man said his car was stolen, Everett police Sgt. Mike McAvoy said. Around the same time, a jogger reported a car in a nearby lagoon.
The man’s clothes were wet and he handed officers a wet driver’s license, McAvoy said.
The man later admitted that he crashed the car and didn’t want his parents to know.
Police Wednesday night haven’t decided whether to charge the man with false reporting, McAvoy said.
