Arlington: Learn about wildlife center
The Friends of the Arlington Library are sponsoring a visit by the staff at Sarvey Wildlife Center, who plan to bring along some raptors.
During the session participants can learn what they can do to help the animals at the center near Arlington.
The program is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the library, 135 N. Washington Ave.

Gluten-free cooking subject of class
Arlington Parks and Recreation sponsors a cooking class for people who are familiar with gluten-free flours and the ingredients necessary to combine with them for successful results.
It is scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hadley Hall community room at the Arlington Boys &Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave, NE.
The class will include a demonstration and sharing of a variety of recipes.

Camano Island: Women’s Expo set
The first of what organizers hope will be an annual event, the Stanwood and Camano Island Women’s Expo, is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Camano Senior and Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island.
The expo will include health, beauty and financial help and will feature vendors, a fashion show and catered lunch.

Lake Stevens: Benefit for injured teacher
An auction to raise money to help injured Skyline Elementary School teacher Brad Hodge is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Cavelero Mid High School, 8220 24th St. S.E. Hodge lost his leg in a car crash on Oct. 9. He is still recovering, and any money raised at the auction will be given to him to use for medical expenses and to off-set the income he lost during his recovery.
Dessert and coffee will be served at the event. Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children.
The items up for bid include a ride to school in a fire truck, dinner for eight in your home prepared and served by the mayor of Lake Stevens, and a hot air balloon ride.
