I-5 lanes, ramps in Smokey Point to close for repaving

ARLINGTON — The state Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to plan ahead for lane, ramp and rest area closures on I-5 near Smokey Point beginning Monday.
The closures are scheduled to allow crews to grind and repave sections of I-5 and the Smokey Point rest areas.
On Monday, the right lane of northbound I-5 and the Smokey Point rest area is set to be closed from 4 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
On Monday and Tuesday nights, the onramp from Highway 530 to southbound I-5 will be closed from 11:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.
On Monday through Wednesday nights, the two right lanes of southbound I-5 near the Smokey Point rest area are scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
This work is part of a project to repave about four miles of I-5 near Arlington.
