50 YEARS AGO (1959)

Making last plans for the BPW card party were Authelia Lowman, Bess Rosick and Marie Lindstrom. It would take place Monday in the Masonic Temple. Sponsored by the Everett Business and Professional Women’s Club, card party proceeds would go to the Virginia Blomquist Scholarship Fund.

Kenneth Killan, manager of the Lynnwood branch of First National Bank of Everett, watched as Jo Ann Warner adjusted a painting by Helen Everett. It was one of many to be shown during the second annual Edmonds Spring Art Festival in May.

25 YEARS AGO (1984)

An auction-buffet was part of the Human Services Coalition annual meeting in May at Everett Pacific Hotel. Donated items and services would be auctioned off by Snohomish County Executive Willis Tucker. Further information could be obtained by contacting Marty Staltzman or Diane McIntosh.

Among those honored for giving freely of their time to help others as recipients of the Governor’s Distinguished Volunteer Award were Patricia Seider, CARE crisis line in Everett; Peggy Mathis, Everett; and Ted Truax, Edmonds. A recognition ceremony would take place next month in Olympia.
