Does not compute: A new search engine, WolframAlpha, is scheduled to launch later this week. It differs from Google and Yahoo by directly answering questions rather than listing Web sites where the answers might be found.

Neither Google nor Yahoo need worry about the competition. Wolfram’s certain to go on overload the minute a 3-year-old goes online and repeatedly types “Why?” into it.

There’s an ap for that: The International Energy Agency warns that big screen TVs, iPods and other electronic gadgets will triple the demand for electricity by 2030 and lead to the creation of more greenhouse gases.

The Buzz has the solution and will soon submit a patent request for a head-mounted wind turbine that will power an iPod. Users do have to remember to duck coming through a door.
