Groups plan services for Memorial Day

Here are services planned for Monday, Memorial Day. If your group is not listed, please e-mail newstips@heraldnet.com today.

Everett: The Everett service is planned for 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum, 4504 Broadway. There will be speakers and representatives from the Reserve Officer Training Corp.

A luncheon follows at 12:30 p.m. at Fleet Reserve Association No. 170, 6802 Beverly Blvd. Meatloaf costs $4 and children are welcome.

Lake Stevens: The service is planned for 10 a.m. at the downtown Lake Stevens War Memorial, 1808 124th Ave. NE. The service includes lowering all flags to half staff, a speaker, reading the names of those engraved on the War Memorial and the playing of taps.

Lynnwood: The ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. at Lynnwood Veterans Park, 19300 44th Ave. W. It’s presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040 and American Legion Post 37. There will be a piper, speakers, a rifle salute and a laying of wreaths.

Marysville: There will be a Memorial Day service at 11 a.m. at Marysville Cemetery, 8801 State Ave. It’s presented by American Legion Post 178 and hosted by Marysville Cemetery.

An open house and free luncheon will follow at noon at the American Legion Post 178, 119 Cedar Ave.

Machias: A service is planned at noon at Machias Cemetery, 1204 Silva St., Snohomish. There will be a 21-gun salute.

Snohomish: Ceremony planned for 11 a.m. at the Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, 8601 Riverview Road. The event is a joint effort of the Gay Jones Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 921 and Auxiliary and the Earl Winehart American Legion Post 96 and Auxiliary.
