Stimulus snafu

The snubbing of Washington’s state ferry system didn’t last long. After a beat-down from Sen. Patty Murray, the feds announced Wednesday that our fleet will get millions in stimulus money.
Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says it all was a mistake. The Buzz says LaHood can make amends by subjecting himself to a four-hour wait for the San Juan Island ferry on Labor Day weekend, only to watch helplessly as the crew drops the dock gate after loading the car in front of his.
Tit for tat: Apple has re-coded iTunes so that Palm Pre smart phones — a rival of Apple’s iPhone — won’t sync with it.
Palm retaliated by pointing out that the iPhone can’t share data with the Palm Pilot that’s sat in your sock drawer since 2003.
Home improvement: A kitchen remodel can fetch a higher price for your home — as long as you or Phil, the guy you hired in the Home Depot parking lot, don’t make a cobby mess.
