In a benefit for area charities, Chateau Ste. Michelle will sell 600 bottles of a 2005 cabernet sauvignon with Ken Griffey Jr.’s face on the label.
The $250-per-bottle vino, dubbed Junior 600, shows steady veteran clubhouse leadership on the nose, while the mouthfeel exhibits occasional hissy fits at the media.
A final note: Drink now — this wine won’t age well.
Tippling time: Check out three libations from the golden age of cocktails, a glorious era that ended on Oct. 28, 1919, the day America went temporarily insane.
The re-creation of these sophisticated cocktails of yesteryear beg the question: Will the mixologists of 2109 painstakingly re-create Jell-O shots and Red Bull-vodka combinations?
Opposites attract: The Senate voted to kill further production of the Air Force’s F-22 fighter.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., joined Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., in supporting President Barack Obama’s bid to stop building the expensive airplane.
In other odd bedfellow news, the nation’s cats announced they would begin sleeping with dogs.
