ENGAGEMENT
Turner and Barnes
Nicole Barnes and Daniel Turner plan to marry on Aug. 23 along the Edmonds waterfront.
She is the daughter of Rich and Kristin Barnes of Mukilteo, and he is the son of Tracy Turner of Lynnwood.
Daniel and Nicole met during their sophomore year of high school when a mutual friend brought Daniel to Nicole’s church, where her father is the pastor.
After graduating from Kamiak High School in 2006, the pair began spending time together on the Edmonds or Kirkland waterfronts after church, talking and deepening their friendship.
Daniel asked Nicole out on their first official date on her birthday in October. He asked her parents for permission to marry in December, and then he proposed, dropping to one knee, on Jan. 16.
