The Buzz: It’s his bag

Edmonds’ Rick Steves, for whom travel to Europe is as commonplace as an afternoon visit to the mall is for the rest of us, shares his packing secrets. Hint: They don’t involve multiple suitcases the size of chest freezers and long waits staring at the baggage carousel.
Steves’ frugal ways include wearing the same socks two days in a row and washing them every five days. It saves space in his pack, but The Buzz feels sorry for the poor airport drug dog.
O, the humanity: The wildfires near Los Angeles destroyed an untold number of marijuana plants at as many as 50 pot gardens hidden in the hills, authorities say.
The loss was keenly felt many hundreds of miles away at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, where grief counselors are standing by.
Snub: In a media blitz to garner support for health care reform, President Barack Obama will sit down with David Letterman on Monday and granted interviews with major networks — but not the No. 1-rated cable news channel, Fox.
Obama also snubbed MSNBC, so perhaps Bill O’Reilly and Keith Olbermann can meet up for a pity party.
