Magical evenings

Published 5:36 pm Thursday, October 1, 2009

It isn’t “The Phantom of the Opera,” but it does take place at an opera house and it does involve Halloween-ish type frights.

“A Fright at the Opera,” a combination magic show and dinner party, hits the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St., for 10 shows, starting Thursday. Other shows will be on Oct. 9, 15, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31.

Dinner is served at 7 p.m., and the shows start at 8 p.m.

The dinner menu offers a choice of pork medallions in cranberry cream sauce or halibut with roasted corn and black bean salsa, both served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes and deviled carrots. Cheesecake will finish the meal.

Thursday shows are family-friendly, while Fridays and Saturdays are more of a PG-13 nature.

Guests are encouraged to wear costumes, especially for the Halloween masked ball that is part of the Oct. 31 evening.

Admission is $15 for the show only, $45 for dinner and the show, $75 for Oct. 31.
