Get out the rye bread: The Seattle Mariners season is over, but the M’s front office already is trying to answer tough questions as to which players will return. Among the biggest questions is whether 40-year-old fan favorite Ken Griffey Jr., who was carried around the field by four teammates after the final game, will return.
If he does return, team trainers concerned about injuries will ask that after each Griffey home run he be borne around the bases by the same four Mariners.

It’s a good thing: Italian scientists say they’ve recreated the steps possibly used in the 13th or 14th century to make the Shroud of Turin, which shows the image of a man’s face and some believe to be the burial cloth of Jesus of Nazareth.
The process involves aging a linen cloth in an oven and placing it on a face rubbed with red pigment. Detailed instructions for making your own shroud are planned for the April issue of Martha Stewart Living.
