Edmonds: Council to hear from fire district
The City Council has a work session with the Fire District 1 Board of Commissioners as part of its meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 121 Fifth Ave. N.
Lake Stevens: Learn about annexations
The first of three planned public information meetings by the city of Lake Stevens regarding the proposed southwest annexation is tonight. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Cavelero Mid High School, 8220 24th St. SE. The city is planning to run the meeting in a round-table discussion format.
Voters in an area south of Frontier Village between the lake, Highway 204 and extending south of 20th Street SE will have a chance to decide the issue for the November election.
Meetings also are scheduled for the same time Oct. 22 and 29 at the same location.

Mill Creek: Help with native plant project
The Adopt-A-Stream Foundation is looking for volunteers to help plant 200 native shrubs and 60 trees along Mill Creek near the site of the former Larry’s Smokehouse on Saturday.

Mountlake Terrace: Harpists’ circle
Harp players from around the Puget Sound region will get together at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. for the Puget Sound Folk Harp Circle, which happens the third Sunday of each month.

Mukilteo: Help save Japanese Gulch
Supporters of keeping Japanese Gulch undeveloped plan a fundraiser 6:30 p.m., Nov. 21 at the Rosehill Community Centre, 304 Lincoln St.
An African safari, trips to Hawaii, art glass and hot air balloon rides are some of the items to be bid on.
There will be a $20 cover charge at the door.
