Everett: Get financial advice at free event
Financial experts will provide advice at a free financial literacy talk at Everett Community College at noon Nov. 17 at the college, 2000 Tower St.
The 90-minute session will be in the Parks Hall conference room ABC.
The event is hosted by EvCC’s Financial Skills Club, a student-led organization whose mission is to provide members with an avenue to expand their financial knowledge.
The event will include a panel of experts who specialize in financial advising, credit management, housing and student loans. Attendees can win door prizes, ask questions, collect materials and learn more about financial literacy activities on the EvCC campus.
Island County: Committee vacancies
The Island County Board of Commissioners has vacancies on the county’s Marine Resources Committee and the Conservation Futures Citizen Advisory Board.

Mill Creek: Student qualifies for world meet
Brendon Beardsley, who was the silver medalist in the junior-class world championship radio-controlled glider-flying competition in Turkey in 2008, has qualified again for the international competition in 2010.
Brendon, 17, is a student at Henry M. Jackson High School in Mill Creek.
Mukilteo: Author to speak at fundraiser
An annual fundraising breakfast for the Mukilteo Schools Foundation is set for 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Kamiak High School commons, 10801 Harbour Pointe Blvd.
This year’s breakfast will feature a talk by Robert Dugoni, a New York Times best-selling author. Proceeds will support the foundation’s effort to improve literacy in Mukilteo schools. Tickets are $35.

Snohomish: Get help on Medicare Part D
The Snohomish Senior Center will host two events this month to offer guidance and enrollment into Medicare Part D.
The first, an information session, will run from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Seniors will hear updates and information to prepare for making a decision about the Medicare Part D program.
The second, an enrollment event, will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 30. Seniors can schedule a one-on-one appointment to hear impartial information.
The free events, which are not for sales or marketing purposes, will be at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St.
