Our Lady of Perpetual Help School principal Sister Mary Bernice and students LaVerne Backes, Ralph Hollis and Bill Rose were admiring a Controlled Reader, the newest addition to their reading aid equipment. The school’s open house was tomorrow.

Olivia Park Elementary School was to be dedicated Sunday afternoon. Fred Giles, Everett Junior College, would give the principal address. Lois Dexter, Jascha Galperin and Richard Nelson, Mukilteo music teachers, would provide music for the event. An open house would follow.

25 YEARS AGO (1984)

Cascade’s girls swim team finished first in nine of 11 events to capture its first district championship in school history at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School pool. Leading the team with first places were Carol Quarterman, Eva Winge, Amy Pelton and Julie Zenter.
