Pat, I’d like to buy a vowel: Seattle Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik is earning praise from baseball fans for the deals he’s made to bring the Angels’ Chone Figgins and the Phillies’ Cliff Lee to the M’s.
Seahawk fans, we know you’re looking for a new GM for the hapless Hawks, but you’ve reached the league limit on the number of unpronounceable names on your roster.
It’s a small world after all: Disneyland Paris attracted 15.6 million visitors last year, making it the No. 1 tourist destination in Europe.
But hasn’t it injured French pride that such an American institution is favored over traditional French sites? Nope. They’ve made Disneyland Paris their own with names for rides such as (and we are not making this up) La Cabane des Robinson, Les Voyages de Pinocchio and Indiana Jones et le Temple du Peril.
Front nine already set: Tiger Wood’s business partners in Dubai say they will go ahead with plans for a Woods-inspired golf course in the financially shaky Middle East emirate.
With just a couple more surprise announcements, they’ll be able to name each of the 18 holes after a mistress.
