GRANITE FALLS — A fire destroyed a garage and displaced a family of three living in the building Friday.
The blaze ignited in a detached garage in the 500 block of Jordan Road. The garage had been converted into living quarters for a family, said Getchell Fire Chief Travis Hots.
Fire crews from Getchell, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens and Marysville raced to the garage. There was smoke billowing from the building.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and kept it from spreading to the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted the family left homeless by the blaze.
