Marysville: Tree recycling available

The city of Marysville and five Boy Scout troops in town have set up a program for recycling natural Christmas trees after the holidays.

Marysville residents may leave their trees at curbside by 8 a.m. Jan. 9 for Boy Scouts with troops 80, 81, 82, 84 and 419 in Marysville to pick up that day.

The scouts will take the trees to the city of Marysville to be ground into mulch and chips for use at the city’s Strawberry Fields for Rover Off-Leash Dog Park and surrounding trails.

The scouts will ask for a donation to help support their activities. Troops plan to distribute donation envelopes on doorsteps prior to the donation date.

Trees without flocking or tinsel may be left at the curb or taken directly to the Strawberry Fields Athletic Complex at 6302 152nd St. NE. If scouts miss a tree on the designated pickup dates, residents may call 360-659-6334 and it will be picked up.
