E-V-E-R-E-T-T stands for Everett High

I am an Everett man born, an Everett man ‘til I die: Everett High School’s landmark building celebrates its 100th anniversary next week. Among the students who have walked its halls are Sen. Henry M. “Scoop” Jackson, Dennis Erickson, Stan Boreson, Chuck Close and, yes, The Buzz.

See kids, if you apply yourself in school you, too, could become a U.S. senator, an NFL head coach, a beloved entertainer, a renowned artist or the daily newspaper’s resident smart ass.

  • Game over: Tetris, the falling puzzle piece video game developed by a Soviet computer programmer in 1984, has become the biggest selling game for cell phones.

    We knew it: It’s all part of a commie plot to sap America’s worker productivity.

  • Declare the pennies on your eyes: It’s tax time again, so we’ve put together some tips and advice for taxpayers looking to minimize the hassle and maximize their rebate.

    Here are some bonus tips:

  • Even if you give them your last name, you can’t claim your pets as dependents.

  • You can file your return online, but using Twitter, 140 characters at a time, will take you forever.

  • The first-time homebuyer credit isn’t available if you bought your first home playing Monopoly.
