EVERETT — A toy shaped like a bomb stopped traffic Tuesday.

Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies investigated the discovery of an apparent grenade found along Airport Road in south Everett.

Deputies at first weren’t certain if the device was a real explosive and took precautionary measures just in case, spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

It turned out to be a rubber toy shaped like a grenade, she said.

The discovery was made in the 12100 block of Airport Road. Traffic was rerouted during the investigation.
