How they stand, plus a correction

The U.S. Division race:
Tri-City — 93 points, five games remaining
Everett — 91 points, five games remaining
Spokane — 87 points, five games remaining
Portland — 83 points, four games remaining.
Vancouver, by the way, is at 83 points with five games remaining. It’s looking more and more like the B.C. Division champion will be the No. 2 seed in the first round of the playoffs, despite not having the second-best record in the Western Conference.
And one correction from the live blog. Everett did not clinch home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs tonight. If Portland won the rest of its games and Everett lost the rest of its games the teams would finish tied at 91 points, and the Winterhawks would have the tiebreaker for having one more win. That being said, the Tips need just one point won or one point dropped by Portland to be at home for the first weekend of the playoffs, so it seems a mere formality.
