Does Ronald McDonald deserve a break?

A group of do-gooders is pushing Ronald McDonald to retire after nearly 50 years of pitching hamburgers, saying the clown holds too much influence over America’s youth.
Ronald’s powerful hold over young people explains a lot: graffiti, tramp stamps, the Hannah Montana movie. But he warned that if he loses his job, teens will take their orders from that despot, the Burger King.
Better days: UW basketball coach Lorenzo Romar is still reeling from his team’s NCAA tournament exit, but he predicts good things next year.
With just a little improvement, the UW can emulate its best teams of the past: Get back to the Sweet 16 and lose to UConn on a heartbreaking last-second shot.
Payback: Pearl Jam is donating $210,000 to a nature conservancy to offset the 6,000 tons of carbon dioxide unleashed by its 2009 tour.
The planet is grateful, but it’s still holding a grudge over “Binaural.”
Bad streak: A young man was charged with indecent exposure after he ran naked through a supermarket because he “didn’t have anything else to do.”
Ronald McDonald said the attacks will continue unless he’s allowed to stay on the job.
