Shake your money makeover: In the latest effort against counterfeiting, the Federal Reserve and Treasury have added new security features to the $100 bill. Crowding Benjamin Franklin are a color-shifting Liberty Bell and a security ribbon with 3-D images of the bell and “100” that move as you tilt the note.
Even more confounding for counterfeiters: If you put on a pair of 3-D glasses, Ben looks like one of the Na’vi from “Avatar.”
Heaving Las Vegas: Las Vegas’ latest attraction offers thrill-seekers a chance to jump off a building. SkyJump Las Vegas puts jumpers in a cable harness that slows their descent as they reach the bottom of a 829-foot drop.
As always, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, including the contents of your stomach.
This is your captain choking: Boeing is preparing to increase production rates for its 777, 747 and 737 lines as the airline industry shows signs of rebounding from the recession.
Boeing will also tailor its jets for the European market in light of the eruptions from the Volcano That Shall Not Be Pronounced after fears over ash grounded flights for the past week. Jet engines on Boeing planes will be fitted with giant surgical masks.
