Arlington: Volunteers and desserts sought

Volunteers and donations of silent auction items or professionally made desserts are needed for Village Community Services’ Taste of Decadence fundraiser on May 22 at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.

Volunteers are needed for decorating and set up, the silent auction, registration, dessert dash and clean up.

Proceeds from the annual event help Snohomish County residents who have disabilities achieve their potential at home, work and in community life.

Bryant: Firefighters set pancake breakfast

North County Fire and EMS offers a pancake feed from 6 to 10 a.m. Sunday at the old Bryant fire station, 26828 Highway 9.

Firefighters and paramedics plan to cook and serve pancakes, eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy.

The breakfast is by donation, and all proceeds go to the North County Fire Fighters Association. The association gives to Relay for Life, NW Burn Foundation, Northwest Stair Climb, Stanwood and Arlington food banks.

Camano Island: See spring birds on tour

Join experienced bird watcher and Audubon member Pam Pritzl for a three-hour field trip to two bird-viewing areas on Camano Island: English Boom Historical Park and Iverson Spit Preserve.

Meet at 8 a.m. Sunday at Terry’s Corner park-and-ride, 860 N. Sunrise Blvd., behind Camano Coffee Roasters, to stage in carpools and get directions to the parks. Wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars. No reservations required. Hosted by the Camano Wildlife Habitat Project, the trip is sponsored by Friends of Camano Island Parks

Marysville: Garage sale for softball team

The Girls Softball Booster Club at Marysville-Pilchuck High School offers a garage sale to benefit the program from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, 5611 108th St. NE.

High school stages ‘The Sound of Music’

Marysville-Pilchuck High School Drama Club’s spring musical “The Sound of Music” has five more performances, including tonight and Saturday.

The play is in the auditorium, 5611 108th St. NE, with 7:30 p.m. performances tonight, Saturday, April 29 and 30 and May 1. Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for students with ASB cards, senior citizens and children. Tickets are available at the door.

The cast includes dozens of students and several children from the Marysville area participating in their first show.
