LAKE STEVENS — Lake Stevens High School and Highland Elementary School were placed in lockdown for a short time Friday morning as police searched the area for a suspect in a home burglary nearby.
Officers were using a police dog to track suspects and asked the schools to lock down as a “safety precaution,” Lake Stevens Police Chief Randy Celori said.
A neighbor called police just before 8 a.m. after she saw someone trying to kick in a door in the 2800 block of 107th Avenue NE, Celori said.
