MARYSVILLE – An Arlington woman was seriously hurt in a robbery outside a Marysville grocery store late Sunday, and police are trying to piece together what happened.

The woman apparently was attacked by a man with a gun just before midnight in the Winco Foods parking lot in the 3900 block of 116th Street NE, Marysville Police Lt. Darin Rasmussen said.

It’s unclear if the woman, 31, was shot, pistol whipped or hurt some other way, he said.

The man grabbed the woman’s purse and ran off. Detectives believe the woman knows the man.

“We expect that this is an isolated incident,” Rasmussen said.

The woman made it into the store where help was summoned. She was taken by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Doctors determined she suffered injuries to her face and said she is expected to recover.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance video, Rasmussen said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Marysville Police at 360-363-8300.
