With vacation season approaching, area police departments remind residents to secure their homes before leaving town.
The Lynnwood Police Crime Prevention Section offers a vacation house-check service.
Volunteers in Public Safety will check on all houses within city limits that are registered for the house checks. The VIPS are trained on the police radio to call an officer if they hear or see anything suspicious.
To register for the free service, come to the clerk’s office at the police station on the corner of 44th Avenue West and 194th Street Southwest (Veterans Way) and fill out a short information sheet.
For additional information, contact the Lynnwood Police Crime Prevention Section at 425-670-5635.
