What, me worry?

Put on a happy face: Both BP and President Barack Obama cautioned that it was “way too early to be optimistic” about BP’s latest attempt to stanch the flow of crude oil from a ruptured well in the Gulf of Mexico.
Let’s see: About 46 days of as much as 25,000 barrels of oil spilling into the Gulf, at least two failed previous attempts to stop it and an oil giant more worried about its image than the environmental damaged it has caused. No, I don’t see much danger of optimism here.
When life gives you rotten tomatoes: Months after a cold snap killed tomato plants in Florida, causing nationwide shortages, farmers now face a glut of the vegetables and will either have to let them rot on the vine or sell them at a loss.
Considering the tar balls now washing ashore in Florida and other Gulf Coast states, we suggest a rotten tomato concession stand be set up outside the next BP press conference.
And Toto, too: A funnel cloud was spotted by several people late Friday afternoon in Monroe, the National Weather Service reported.
Reaction was mixed when it was learned that the near-twister dropped a Wal-Mart on N. Kelsey Street, just missing the Wicked Witch of the East.
