Lake Stevens: Council sets special meeting
Economic development strategy is the subject of a special meeting of the Lake Stevens City Council tonight.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd Street NE. The City Council’s regular meeting is scheduled to follow the economic development discussion.

Mukilteo: Birding, work party for gulch
The Japanese Gulch Group will hold a work party and birding event in the lower gulch, off 1201 Mukilteo Lane, beginning at 1 p.m. July 11. A nature walk begins at 1 p.m. and a work party to add wood chips to trails starts at 2 p.m. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Sultan: Second term for board members
Bob Knuckey and Steve Harris will begin their second terms on the city planning board July 1 after winning unanimous reappointment from the City Council.
Their reappointment was an easy decision, Mayor Carolyn Eslick said. The pair has worked closely with the council on issues such as repealing the planned unit development code and creating a new public and institution zone for government land uses.
The planning board reviews and monitors the city’s comprehensive plan and development regulations. It meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays each month in the Sultan Community Center, 319 Main St.

Mill Creek: Annual race is set for July 10
The Run of the Mill 5K race/walk on is scheduled July 10. Packet pick-up begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 9:30 a.m. The cost is $20 for adults, and kids 15 and younger pay their age. Race participants should register online by June 30. Starting July 1, there is a $20 late fee.
Entry fees are donated to a fund supporting Providence Regional Cancer Partnership patients during their cancer treatment. Last year, the event raised $38,000.
