The Goose Down Revolution: Police in Belarus, the authoritarian former Soviet satellite, arrested 400 youths who had gathered in Minsk to lightheartedly commemorate a 600-year-old battle with a pillow fight. About 50 people were detained.
Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko, known as “Europe’s last dictator,” said the crackdown was necessary. “You kids are going to poke somebody’s eye out,” he told the flash mob. “Now, turn off that music and go to sleep.”
And now for something completely different: After 85 days and an estimated 184 million gallons of crude spewed into Gulf Coast waters, BP was able to stop the flow of oil from its ruptured well on Thursday.

What crashed under the Space Needle? Seattle billionaire Paul Allen, who founded Microsoft with Bill Gates, says he intends for his considerable wealth to be donated to philanthropy when he dies.
Among the planned bequests, the building that houses Seattle’s Experience Music Project will be left to science to further research in finding a cure for overwrought architecture.
