Parsons will restore needed common sense

As a 35-year resident of Lynnwood, I am familiar with the antics and behavior of Lynnwood city officials. Knowing most of the council members and the mayor, I find many of the published statements in the voters’ pamphlet to range from factual, fictional, delusional and outright lies.
The current incumbent of Council Position 2, Mark Smith, has the audacity to state that sound financial stewardship is a priority and then claims that he will continue, as he has over the past four years, to speak and vote against unwarranted spending and unnecessary taxes. Mark Smith’s record speaks for itself. He consistently supports more and higher taxes with total disregard for the impact on those paying said taxes. His repeated arrogant attitude and wanton disregard for the taxpayers has placed the citizens under extreme financial burden.
Mr. Smith could not care less. His past four years show that his only interest is his re-election and to increase the tax burden so as to continue frivolous spending. Mr. Smith’s published statement is far from the truth! He has never seen a tax he did not like; unless it wasn’t high enough. As a former federal auditor, I can say Mark Smith has no concept of fiscal responsibility!
Either of his opponents would be a vast improvement and an advocate for all citizens. Based on my research, Craig Parsons has the vast detailed knowledge on nearly every important issue to have been before the council over the past few years. With his extensive business experience and background, he would serve the citizens of this city well and at the same time help restore some badly needed common sense to city government.
Craig Parsons will be an asset to all of the citizens and should be elected to replace the current incumbent.
