Netflix awarded a $1 million prize to a team of programmers that won a contest for crafting the best improvements to Netflix’s movie recommendation system.

Sadly, The Buzz’s movie-recommendation algorithm was not chosen for the big prize. Here’s a sample of our code: If UserHometown = EffeteLiberalCity THEN RecommendedMovie = Out_of_Focus_Foreign_Picture_with_Subtitles ELSE RecommendedMovie = “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

Beats badminton: Students at the University of Houston can earn college credit in a P.E. course that consists of playing Nintendo’s Wii Fit game.

Heeeeere’s the Prez: President Barack Obama’s media offensive continued Monday with an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
