EVERETT — The undefeated Everett Seagulls boys tennis team wrapped up the Wesco North championship Friday with a 6-1 victory over Cascade.
“I’m really proud of the way they played all year,” said Everett coach Tim Boyd, whose team improved to 13-0.
Boyd said the players knew they had something special at the beginning of the season, but didn’t know a league championship would be the result.
“I think at the beginning of the year we knew we could do well,” Boyd said. “They came in really focused.”
With three matches to go, Everett has an opportunity to complete an undefeated regular season.
“I totally believe they can do that and they have the potential to do that,” Boyd said.
Everett’s No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams helped the Seagulls lock up their championship. Each team lost its first set, but came back to win the match.
