Opposition shows hypocrisy

For those who oppose gay marriage on biblical grounds: Jesus said nothing about gay marriage, but he did say that second marriages for women were adulterous (Matthew 5). I know of no Christian congregation that refuses to recognize or perform second marriages. This amounts to a tremendous hypocrisy, given the divorce rate in America.

If you’re going to “defend” marriage, why not start closer to home? Or at least allow others the same right you allow yourself to bend the rules. Personally, I believe love is the only spiritual law that matters, and regard a loving gay marriage as having greater “sanctity” than loveless straight ones.

It would also be nice to see more Christians loving their enemies. Jesus died to set an example that nobody seems to want to follow. Judge not, lest you be judged!
