Registered at Black Holes ‘R’ Us: Scientists have spotted what they believe is a baby black hole where a star exploded in 1979. Astronomers observed something consuming the gassy remnants of the exploded star, sucking up the equivalent of the Earth’s mass.

Concerned over how much the infant black hole is consuming, NASA scientists have proposed launching a huge spit-up rag into space to protect the Earth.

You’ve got chat: Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Facebook’s new messaging service, which many see as an eventual replacement for e-mail. Zuckerberg said he believes people will prefer shorter electronic “chats” to reading and responding to lengthy e-mails.
