What’s with the ‘no parking’ signs along Colby Avenue?

An alert reader asked what was up with the “no parking” signs along Colby Avenue north of 19th. She was concerned the city planned to chop down trees in the median. That’s not what’s happening.

The city plans to send the street sweeper down that way soon. Here’s what the city spokeswoman told me: “We are going to be street sweeping the leaves in the roadway and we want to make sure there are no cars parked when we come by to do the work. This is a new approach this year so we can get a one-time sweep.”
