Always low prices
Wal-Mart isn’t just moving into Monroe, it’s buying a piece of the place. A Seattle-based developer is selling Wal-Mart the 24-acre North Kelsey property where it plans to build a new store.
Wal-Mart didn’t plan to spend so much, but it saw the big, yellow smiley face and the low, low price and it just couldn’t resist.
Playoffs or bust: Struggling Matt Hasselbeck faced the media Thursday to talk about his recent poor play. The Seahawks’ quarterback insisted he’s going to turn things around and that he hasn’t officially changed his name to “Struggling Matt Hasselbeck.”
Even so, we could be in the final days of the Hasselbeck era in Seattle. Wal-Mart is already planning to make room for him in the used-quarterbacks bin at the new Monroe store.
Staying with football: UW linebacker Mason Foster has been talking with former Husky standout Donald Butler about what it takes to make it to the NFL.
Foster has dreams of playing for pay, but it’s hard to find peers to show him how. USC’s players won’t talk to him, and Cam Newton is busy preparing for the BCS championship game.
