Where’s concern for all crazy talk?

Sunday, the day after the tragic shooting in Arizona, I saw Congressman Adam Smith on Seattle TV. He blamed the shooting on “heated political rhetoric.” That is code for “Shut up, sit down and be quiet, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.” The “progressive” politicians and the progressive lovers in the news media are already blaming by inference conservative voices.
This guy was not influenced by political speech. He is certifiably a nutcase. He wrote about “government mind control.” He probably wears a tinfoil helmet to prevent having his thoughts stolen. He was expelled from a college because they thought he was a danger.
I want to know where Adam Smith’s concern was when there was a book and a movie fantasizing about George Bush’s assassination. Where is his and the media’s concern when conservatives such as Ann Coulter and David Horowitz, when speaking on college campuses — by invitation, I might add — are physically attacked and have to bring bodyguards?
Where is the concern about MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann’s rhetoric about “the worst person in the world” list, along with pictures of the “winner”? What about the “9/11 truthers,” one of which has a radio show, who accuse George Bush of masterminding the 9/11 attack? Then there is the poison spouted daily on The Daily Kos and the Huffington Post? These are the real dangers in this country, not grandma and grandpa who have a political sign at a peaceful gathering.
