Leisure Suit Larry

Us middle-age folks who feel hopelessly out of step with today’s fashions should take note of this: If you’ve still got (and can squeeze yourself into) your old flare-leg jeans from 1972, you’ve got the hip look for 2011.

On the other hand, if you’ve still got one of those lime-green leisure suits with long pointed collars and matching neckerchiefs, you’ve got a really scary Halloween costume.

Be Kind, Rewind: Need a movie recommendation? A website called Clerkdogs will tell you which flick to stream on Netflix tonight.

And since the people giving advice are former video store clerks, they’ll recommend Taiwanese arthouse cinema, then sneer at you when you opt for “The Blind Side” instead.

The Tao of Steve: Speaking of movies, the coolest cars in cinematic history include the 1968 Mustang GT 390 driven by Steve McQueen in “Bullitt.”

Then again, a 1973 Gremlin with the Levi’s interior trim option would be cool if Steve McQueen were behind the wheel. Even if he were clad in a lime-green leisure suit with a long pointed collar and matching neckerchief.
