Will there be another delay in the U.S. Air Force’s $35 billion aerial refueling tanker contest?
According to this Reuters story, the Pentagon’s inspector general is looking into the Air Force’s
mix-up of tanker bid information.
Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., was one of seven senators who asked the inspector general to investigate the Air Force’s leak of bid information to competitors the Boeing Co. and EADS.
A spokesman for the inspector general’s office said he couldn’t predict how soon the inspector general would decide whether to launch a full investigation.
The other problem in front of the Air Force’s contest: Congress still hasn’t approved the 2011 defense spending bill.
